Fifty years ago, a group of dynamic and forward-thinking archivists got together and created what became the Society of California Archivists. Since its founding, SCA has proven to be essential to the professional lives of its members and to the preservation of records which reveal the multi-faceted history of California. It is also one of the oldest regional archival associations in the country. Whether you have been a member for decades or just joined up, SCA’s mission is to provide archivists with resources, support, education and, just as importantly, friendship. The way that we work is always changing, but we will always receive the support which SCA has given to us for a half century.
While we may not be able to gather in person to celebrate this important milestone, we are hoping you will consider honoring the resources, support, education, and professional community SCA has offered its members for the past 50 years by making a contribution during SCA’s "$50 for 50" anniversary campaign. The "$50 for 50" anniversary campaign is being held this year in lieu of SCA’s Annual General Meeting tradition, the Silent Auction. Donations made during this campaign will support SCA awards and scholarships.
Donations of other amounts are also welcome! Those who donate $50 or more during the "$50 for 50" anniversary campaign will receive a tote bag honoring SCA’s 50th anniversary.
